Long time no posting... but back I am..........

it seems the older I get the more abstract I like and paint - it is just so much fun to just play with the shapes and colors... here I painted on artist card stock - I felt a little like Spring... yellow and blue, my favorite color combination at this time.....

I never forget the day I created

"Remember Me......"

I didn't have a canvas

or carton to paint on...

but there was an 8x10 inch

piece of plexiglass........

I had the urge to paint something -

so I heated up my little iron -

melted some wax on it -

red ofcourse -

and applied it to the backside of the glass -

I executed intuitively some pedal style strokes -

I couldn't waite to turn the glass over....

Wow

I liked what I saw -

the element of surprise...

a beautiful blossom -

with vigor and excitement I finished the foliage,

added a few more strokes -

and voila.....

This was my christmas presence to my son -

so he will: Remember Me........

8x10 reverse painted encaustic on glass

I never forget the day I created this painting -

no canvas, no carton, - so why not try encaustic on glass -

I melted some pigmented beeswax on a small travel iron and

applied the wax to the backside of the glass -

Red ofcourse - I made some intuitive pedal strokes -

thinking reverse ofcourse -

I was really excite to see the result when I turned it over -

there was nothing ..... I wanted to change -

and added a couple of little strokes her and there......

A very beautiful little floral - if I say so myself --

I am thinking of maybe making prints from this image...

With much vigor and excitement I finished the foliage

and added a few more details....

 

I gave this little treasure to one of my sons -

so he will always Remember ME.........
